Continuing on with the food holiday theme this month, and tipping my hat to National Hamburger Day on July 28th. How do you make a really great burger? Grind your own meat. How do you make it taste even better? Make your own hamburger buns. And how do you really take it over the top? Fill it with a little homemade pimento cheese and slather some of that delicious southern spread on the bun as well. That’s right, multiple recipes in this post for the ultimate summer grilling sandwich.
One of the first posts we published for this blog featured the meat grinder attachment, and how to make your own hamburger patties. As summertime is almost upon us again, I figured it was only appropriate to delve into making homemade hamburger buns. I also found out just a few weeks ago that May is national hamburger month, so it seemed even more fitting to create a scrumptious bun for all the grilling holidays to come.
I hope you enjoyed the recent July 4th “Burger Time” post. Now to share my recipes for hamburger buns. Today I will share a regular wheat version as well as a gluten free version.
